Paintballing can be a great way to spend a summer afternoon with friends and/or family. It is a game that involves teamwork, strategy, and of course, simulated violence. It is also an activity that can be thoroughly enjoyed by nearly everyone, from teenagers to adults.
If, however, you want to try your hand at paintballing, there are a number of pieces of equipment that you will need to get started. The most basic items will inevitably include the paintball gun (called a "marker") and an adequate supply of paintballs. There are also a number of pieces of safety equipment that are highly recommended, such as a facemask/helmet, and other protective clothing. Much of this equipment can be rented, but once hooked, most players end up buying their own.
The original paintballing games were played outdoors, and this is still largely the case today. Many people prefer playing these games outdoors because it is a closer simulation to actual combat and makes use of naturally occurring obstacles. This being said, there are many indoor paintball arenas throughout this country and other parts of the world as well.
